Phoebe Gilbert had 13 children, Joseph was her first born son, Edwin drove the West End Brewery beer wagons, Joseph attended the Observation School and was employed as a Boundary Rider on Gum Creek Station Flinders Ranges before he enlisted ....which he did as soon as he was of acceptable age.

I am the great, great granddaughter of Edwin and Phoebe Gilbert. My great grandmother was Eleanor Victoria Gilbert who married Roy Walker, she was the eldest child of Edwin and Phoebe. My grandmother was Phoebe who was the eldest daughter of Eleanor and my mother was also Eleanor the first daughter to Phoebe. I am interested to find all I can about the Gilbert side of the family as I have a lot of information about the Dunbars. I was happy to find this site and see a photo of Edwin and Phoebe. Thanking you for any more information. Lyn Ingrames.
