George was ultimately killed 20.10.17 in Belgium. He was mentioned in Sir Douglas Haig's Despatches for Distinguished and Gallant services and devotion to duty in the field during the period 26 Feb midnight to midnight 20 September 1917. Awarded the Military Medal. Buried Poperinghe New Military Cemetery, France
