Wilfred Joseph Moss was my father's older brother.. He was killed at the age of 22 at Lagnicourt in France. His body was never found, but I am fortunate enough to have seen his name on the commemorative wall at the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneaux. He was a Lewis gunner and had only been in France for a couple of months. The small but vigorous action at Lagnicourt was one of the lead up skirmishes to the major 1st Battle of Fromelles. Two Australians won VCs at Lagnicourt.

Hi Richard, my name is Grant and Wilfred was my grandfathers cousin. The Australian War Memeorial are doing a Last Post ceremony for him at the end of December 2023 and are looking for a photo of him to display on the day. They have located the one attached, but I was wondering if you might have a better resolution one that could be used.

Kind regards, Grant
