Arrested and charged "when on active service, desertion from night of 9/10 April 1917 until arrested by police 10.9.17" Found guilt and sentenced to life, admitted to Military Prison 22.10.17/ Charge then commuted to 2 years. Assumed new name William James Vivian Harris 14.3.18 and rejoined base from prison 22.5.18.
Arrested again and charged again W.O.A.S. absent from 1330 31.5.18 until arrested 1800 18.6.18 - 90 Days
