Please note the mother's maiden name of John A Amesbury was Cox, not Place as listed on your record.
I am his great niece.

Hello Margaret,
Thanks for your additional information. We have recorded the name as Place on this website as Mrs. M Place was the name used by the mother of John Andrew Amesbury in her correspondence with the Red Cross Information Bureau which is included in this packet. Mary Louise (or Louisa) Amesbury (mother of John) married Henry Thomas Place at her residence at Beltana on 8 July 1913 and presumably changed her surname to Place at this time.
