The family friend enquiring about John Evelyn Grant was related to his future wife Mabel Sylvia Grant nee Hunt of Myponga South Australia . Florence Tonkin was related to Mabel's older sister Alice May Pengilly (Eatts) nee Hunt. The Thomas Hunt family of Myponga is recorded in the ancestry of Sellstrom The site is managed by my cousin Maryanne Bach Stewart. We are related through our common Great grandmother Thirza Ann Hunt nee Reed of Yucca farm Myponga . I think JE Grant enlisted with her son Leland Charles Tonkin who was killed in World War One.. William Pengilly who died at Aldinga was related to Mabel's Sister Alice Hunt.

My great aunt Emily Victoria Pengilly nee Hunt married Farquar Gordon Pengilly in 1925. At Myponga. Their children were Beatrice Pengilly known as Betty. Latrice pengilly known as Letty. Betty married and had 4children. Barbara Robert Jillian Susan and from A second marriage Theresa. Jillian took the surname Pengilly. She has more details of her mothers family in the ancestry sit under Pengilly of Devon U K. Her mother bBetty sold the family farm at Myponga in the 1960s. Jillian was my second cousin.

Details of correction re Pengilly . Should read Beatrice (known as Betty) took the name Pengilly. She served in World War Two. And is listed in the RSL memorial site.
